How to play Kent (Coup)

  1. Goal. Everyone holds 4 cards, and each team races to be the first to collect four of a kind.
  2. Swapping. There are 4 face-up cards in the center; on your turn you swap one of your cards for a center card or pass, and when all four players pass in a row, the center cards are replaced.
  3. Signal. Once you have four of a kind, you give your partner a secret sign — only they can see it.
  4. Coup. Your partner calls "Coup!" and if you hold four of a kind, your team wins a point; a wrong "Coup!" gives the point to the opponents.
  5. Stop. If you suspect the opponents have four of a kind, call "Stop!" — if you're right, the point is yours; if you're wrong, it's theirs.
