Bridge (rubber bridge) is the classic trick-taking game for four players in two teams. First you bid for a contract, then you play it out — the declarer's partner's hand (the "dummy") is laid face up and played by the declarer. The team that wins 2 games takes the rubber.

- Bidding. You bid for a contract — the number of tricks above 6 plus a trump suit or no trumps; double and redouble apply only to the opponents' bid, and three passes close the auction.
- Dummy. The declarer is the first player of the side to name the contract's strain; after the opening lead, their partner's hand is laid face up and the declarer plays it.
- Play. Follow suit; the trick is won by the highest trump or the highest card of the suit led.
- Scoring. A made contract scores below the line (game is 100), overtricks and bonuses above the line; a failed contract gives points to the defenders.
- Honours. 4 of the 5 trump honours in one hand score 100, all 5 score 150, and at no trumps all 4 aces in one hand score 150; the points go above the line to the holder's team.
