Pool (8-ball)
2 players · 5–10 min
Eight-ball is the most popular pool game. One player pockets the solids (1–7), the other the stripes (9–15); whoever clears their group and then pockets the black 8-ball on a legal shot wins.

- The break. The break must be legal — a ball pocketed or at least 4 balls driven to a rail; an 8-ball pocketed on the break is re-spotted.
- Groups. Your group (solids or stripes) is set by the first legally pocketed ball.
- Aiming. Aim with the guide line, set your power and spin (top — the cue ball follows, bottom — it draws back, side — it changes the rebound off the rail) and shoot; first hit one of your own balls, then a ball must be pocketed or reach a rail.
- Winning. Clear your group, call a pocket and pocket the 8-ball last right there; in another pocket, early or on a foul (including a scratch), it loses the game.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play 8-ball pool?
You pocket the balls in your group (solids or stripes), then the black 8-ball at the end — in a pocket you call beforehand; a foul gives your opponent ball in hand anywhere, and pocketing the 8-ball early loses.
Is the pool physics realistic?
Yes — shots are simulated with deterministic collision and friction physics, identical on the server and in the browser.
